Appearance and the test of time

Appearance and the test of time

Time and again consideration of appearance is based on just that - appearance. An initial impression can have a very powerful affect on the reviewer. As the old adage says "First impressions count". Having written that though, how many times have you seen something that has had that effect, which may even have lasted for some time then, later - perhaps even years later, you have looked at something again and said "Oh, no!"
If the appearance appeal stays - that is wonderful. If it does not stand the test of time then obviously there are various options depending on the use to which it has been applied. Options include but are not limited to: - Remove it - Live with it - Revise it to suit - Completely revamp it to revitalise and modernise it.

From Sinking Sun to Night Wash

From Setting Sun to Night Wash

STRONSY ART AND DESIGN

A glowing, setting sun reflected in a glassy sea view with a tangerine stripe spanning the width of the image.
This is one of a range of scenes and images that have stunned and inspired over the years and have led to Stronsy Art and Design being shared worldwide.

Another image that has really struck me was one that I expected to be a decent enough photograph but the outcome, untouched as with all my images unless requested, was (for me at least) a dramatic stunner.

What started Stronsy Art and Design off?
That is a mystery, lost in my past but a rich tapestry of events, views and experiences have broadened the  interests and provided a wealth of ideas, inspiration and sheer enjoyment for Stronsy and hopefully you, the reader.

This led to experimental art and design including the use of unusual materials and media in a flurry of exciting activities over many years.
Ideas range include the fondly loved "Oliver" story book from primary school days held together with coloured string to cotton wool stuffed embroidered butterflies hand-stitched onto canvas. Other examples are bas relief llama heads in modelling clay to acrylic cheetahs, wood sculpting to oil painted wood panels.
Satisfaction, enjoyment, fun and shared pleasure are at the heart of Stronsy Art and Design.

============================

Then of course, there have been the doodles.
When travelling on a long train journey or whiling away a spare few moments between some activity (this could be work, studies or a visit to the cinema), doodles came into their own.

Sometimes this would be almost planned.
A particularly well thought out idea might need development in one area or another.
So, a whole set of doodles would be created with variants on a theme until the idea developed the way that seemed to be the most suitable - then a more formal work would be created such as a painting, model or photographic study.

A moments inspiration could lead to doodles being added to scraps of paper, tissues, book bindings and even the palm of my hand to ensure that the creative point in time, that spark, was not lost forever and could be built on later - sometimes to great effect.

Who knows what's next?

FROM BENDY BUSES TO KANGAROOS

The result of a requirement for one ended up with one - so, it worked!OK - maybe not the most technically correct or inspired creation - but it's a bendy bus all the same.

Kangaroo with Joey study...

IF YOU CAN IMAGINE IT - IMAGE IT

What you see is sometimes what you see...
For example when you first look at this photograph you may be inclined to think the human figures are superimposed on it for effect - but no!

Each figure is suspended in a fixed position though they look, in a still image, like they are falling though that is the intention.

Do have a look at lots more images as applied to a wide variety of items - just follow this Stronsy link.
NO, you don't have to buy anything - though once you have looked you may just want to.

Stronsy for the World

Stronsy for the World

I have always had an interest in art and design using a wide variety of media.

One of my earliest pieces of memorabilia that I know of and still have as a prized possession that I created myself is in the form of a small booklet, with a crayon picture on the front tied together with string, and is the basic story of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens asking for more...

Since then I have dabbled with art and design that has ranged from crayon pictures to clay forms, wood carving to leather work and acrylic art works to computer art.

Now I am sharing some of my imagery and designs by way of the following website gallery -

What surprised, and delighted me, was the first visit and first linking of any of the products, an impressive picture I've labelled "Sinking Sun" http://www.zazzle.com/sinking_sun_mousepad-144329062099690036.
This was followed fairly soon afterwards by someone with very nice comments about the gallery referred to above and one picture in particular called "...Another Visit?" http://www.zazzle.com/another_visit_print-228401765574941612

...They're Coming Closer!!!

Believe it or not, this, and its associated set of pictures are genuine, untampered with images, which originally left me with a bit of a dropped jaw, open-mouthed moment - and I was there!

Do aliens or extra terrestrials as we refer to them exist?
Are they on their way or are they already here - hence the title.

DO visit my gallery and enjoy what is there - it's free to look and enjoy.
If you like what you see, and I sincerely hope that you do - there is wide variety of material for a broad range of tastes, DO tell your friends and collleagues....

If you do decide to go that one step further and buy something then are not inclined to buy - DO still visit to look.

Although the intent overall is to sell products, I really do appreciate each visit and added comments, and every passing on or sharing of my link to others is GREAT.

Thanks in advance for reading this far.
Thanks in advance for any visit - even if only to look.

As per one of my sayings: "Here to please... Pleased to be here!"

Best regards,
Stronsy

Most people during their lives think of ideas that they never get to put onto paper or act upon.

A lot of folk write their ideas down but after a time they do not know where those writings are because they get lost or get destroyed.

Yet there are so many ideas that each of us has over a lifetime that the mind boggles when thinking of the possibilities of the ideas that have, or may have come about and have just 'died', often with their creators.
